Biography

British writer, a journalist, philanthropist and champion of justice. He was the editor of the "Pall Mall Gazette" and wrote extensively on subjects that ranged from psychic phenomena to world peace. He first edited a newspaper in 1871, introducing modern methods and undertaking crusades.

Died on the Titanic on 4/15/1912.

Lyndoe quotes him in AA 2/1963. Leo in Modern Astrology 7/1912 stated, "He gave his time as 'before breakfast,' rectified to 6:00 AM LMT," and Leo notes that "other maps have calculated 7:00 AM and 8:53 A.M." PC quotes Sabian Symbols No.863 (no time given) for 6:00 AM.
