Biography
American politician, the three-time Governor of Minnesota from 1948. He later went on to become the President of the University of Pennsylvania. After working his way through law school and graduating in 1929, he formed a successful partnership. He first entered politics as an undergraduate in college. Between 1948 and 1992, he ran for the U.S. Presidency, entering Republican primaries nine times but never gained the nomination for the job.
