Biography
American musician, a rapper formerly known as Snoop Doggy Dogg. Snoop became an overnight success for his work on Dr. Dré’s album, The Chronic, released in December 1992. His first solo album, Doggystyle, was released in December 1993, by which time he was on trial for the murder of Philip Woldermariam (which occurred on August 25, 1993 in Los Angeles), for which he was finally acquitted on February 20, 1996. Snoop has had considerable continued success not only in hip-hop, but in various enterprises and numerous appearances in television commercials.
He was arrested on October 26, 2006 at Bob Hope Airport in Burbank, CA on suspician of posssessing marijuana and a handgun. He was freed on $35,000 bail.
