Biography
American astronaut, a former USAF pilot who flew combat missions in Vietnam. His second space shuttle mission was aboard the Spaceship Challenger. It lifted off on 1/28/1986, 11:38 AM EST, Houston, TX and exploded within a minute, killing the entire crew.
Scobee was a first-class mathematician and engineer, a friendly and cooperative family man who loved flight and adventure.
