Biography
German politician, Chancellor of West Germany since 1974. Enormously popular for putting Germany on its feet with less inflation and unemployment than any European country. A conservative from 1931, he stepped into his position when Willy Brandt resigned in 1974 due to a spy scandal.
His wife Hannelore died at age 91 on October 21, 2010 in Hamburg, Germany.
