Biography
Swiss linguist who is regarded as the "father of modern linguistics." He was published at the age 21 in philology. A teacher in Paris and a Professor in Geneva, he was the inspiration behind the "structuralist" movement in social science and literary criticism. His most famous work is "Course In General Linguistics."
Saussure died 2/22/1913.
