Biography
American known artist who paints acrylic on glass, lovely works of space and fantasy scenes. His gallery exhibits many forms of glass art, cosmic interpretations, romantic visions, semi-biblical art works as well as visionary and astronomical art. The process itself is known as englassment, with one or two sheets of glad wrap being used against the print in the pressure chamber. The overall effect redefines the picture's meaning. It is actually an age old process, lost in the Middle Ages and revived in the 14th century. Ron has not only reached back in time, but has delved into the future, at one time "painting" with the Tesla coil shooting a million volts into the glass and through to the painting, with spectacular results.
His cosmic paintings have been collected by such people as Dr. Von Braun, Ray Bradbury and Buzz Aldrin and has appeared on the ACS brochure.
He began his work in a barn in Sonoma in 1965, landscapes at first then in 1973, cosmic paintings. He has shown at many galleries across western U.S.
