Biography

French scientist, a bacteriologist-virologist since 1962. The General director of La Santé, 1981-1985, he was sentenced to a four-year suspended sentence in the contaminated blood scandal when the case went to trial in 1999. In 1985, a batch of blood in the blood-bank was contaminated with the AIDS virus, and two young boys died of AIDS as a result.
