Biography
Max Rouquette, pronounced Roqueta in Occitan language, was one of the most famous contemporary Occitan writers. A physician, he was also an activist. From 1936 to 1946, he was a doctor in Aniane (Hérault), he pursued his career as a school health doctor up to 1974 as well as a consultant at the National Health services in Montpellier.
Rouquette was a passionate player of the Tamburello, a court game invented in the northern provinces of Italy during 16th century.
