Biography
American politician. A high school drop-out, he joined the police force in 1943 and came up through the ranks to Police Commissioner. In 1977 he resigned to run for Philadelphia mayor, a post in which he served two terms before being defeated by Wilson Goode in 1987. He hosted a radio talk show 11/09/1988 to 8/15/1990.
Rizzo died of a massive heart attack, 7/11/1991 in Philadelphia, PA.
