Biography

French thief who held a record of a total of 50 holdups and sentences of 123 years in jail.

Riviere was a master escape-artist who cut short his sentence six times by escaping from prison. In 1977, he was sentenced to 6 years in jail for aggravated robberies; given 11 years on 10/23/1990; 15 years on 5/15/1991; 14 years on 12/06/1991. He escaped the Plomeur jail on 10/07/1992 using a helicopter. When he was found and arrested, he was sentenced to 12 years on 5/21/1995 plus an additional 7 years on 10/27/1995 for the Plomeur jail-break.
