Source Notes

LMR quotes Bertram Wolfe, "Diego Rivera." The biography describes his mom's earlier three stillbirths, then states that on his day her sister had run errands all day in preparation, as her labor had begun. Her sister made a last trip to the apothecary, and when his dad came home, there were twin boys. No time stated, late day or early evening is implied.

Rivera's autobiography, "My Art, My Life," (1960, p.19) states, "A twin brother and I were born on the night of December 8, 1886 . . . I, the older and my brother a few minutes later." His twin died at age two.
