Source Notes
Sy Scholfield quotes place and time of birth from her in a newspaper article "Earlier than thou," 30 August 1991, The Evening Standard, PG 35, where she says "Sorry, I don't know what my weight was at birth. But I was on time, and started out as I meant to go on. I was born at home in Plymouth during the war and the midwife became terribly bossy. `Come on!' she said to my mum. `We've got to have this baby before the black-out starts at six o'clock.' And I arrived with 10 minutes to spare"
