Biography
German writer and educator, a novelist and essayist. Her second husband was the composer Carl Orff; she had two kids. Rinser's work was banned in Germany in 1941 and she was imprisoned by the Nazis in 1944 until released by the Allies in 1945. She died March 17, 2002 in Unterhaching, Germany.
