Biography
American writer known as "The Hoosier Poet" for writing verse in the dialect of Indiana, called the Hoosier State." He had no more than a grammar school education and worked as a sign painter and actor, actually a talented mimic. He later worked on the staff of a local paper as a journalist.
Riley died 7/22/1916, Indianapolis, IN.
