Biography

Italian composer, one of the best known in the early 20th century. He was the creator of concertos and symphonic works, but is remembered for his tone-poems, "The Fountains of Rome," 1917 and "The Pines of Rome," 1924. Respighi helped revive interest in traditional music as evidenced by his "Gregorian Concerto," 1922.

He died on 4/18/1936, Rome, Italy.
