Biography
American athlete and pro basketball player, Siegfried played with the Boston Celtics from 1963 to 1970. During his time with the Celtics, the team racked up several championships. After he left the Celtics, he played with the San Diego Rockets (a team that became the Houston Rockets) and Atlanta Hawks. He married in 1972; he and his wife had three daughters. That same year (1972), he retired from pro basketball, becoming a coach at Ohio State and on the Houston Rockets team. In his later years, he counseled prisoners and could be seen occasionally on the motivational speech circuit.
He suffered a heart attack on October 5, 2010 and died nine days later, October 14th, in Cleveland, OH.
