Biography
American pilot who heroically saved an airliner after an ILS ground component failed at LGA. The failure caused the aircraft to strike approach lights, which damaged an engine and restricted some flight controls. He successfully landed the plane at JFK airport in New York, NY with no loss of life.
Later he had problems with divorce, booze and accidents.
