Biography
American conjoined twins born facing each other, joined from chest to navel. The babies shared one heart with six chambers and a common liver. Surgery in a Philadelphia hospital to separate the girls began at 8:05 AM, 8/20/1993 and lasted over five hours: Amy died four hours into the surgery.
Donations poured in to help the family, amounting to some $9,200. Ken and Joey used the money to buy a car and about $1,300 was unaccounted for. Ken was known to have a problem with drug and alcohol abuse.
