Biography
American unusual birth, a healthy 5 1/2 lbs. girl delivered 131 days after the stillbirth of her premature sibling. Her mom, Lainelle, 31, conceived through in-vitro fertilization, two fetuses. On Thanksgiving day in 1997 she went into labor at home and delivered one baby, about 18 weeks gestation, that died. She was hospitalized twice for complications before going into labor on the morning of April 7th. Dr. Mastrogiannis said he believed the birth was the second longest interval ever recorded between the delivery of twins: in 1992 an interval had been reported of 138 days.
