Biography

German Nazi military, a Sturmbannführer (Major) in the Waffen-SS during World War II. Renz was the commander of the 6th SS Schützen Battalion (Panzer Grenadier), 6th SS Gebirgs Division Nord when he was awarded the Knight's Cross on 12 August 1944, serving in the Northern Front in Finland. Renz was killed in action in the Battle of France on 3 January 1945.
