German-born genre painter and lithographer, born to the long Italian pedigree of Quaglios. He studied under his father Joseph Quaglio and his brother Angelo Quaglio. He then went on to study at the Akademie München. He spent a few years, until 1812, working as a decorator of the court and national theaters in Munich. In 1812 his first lithography appeared, a study of nature. In 1820 he made a study of Bavarian folk costume.
He died in Munich, 15 March 1869.

Dezember 1793, morgens um 9.00 Uhr wurde der dritte Sohn des königlichen Hoftheatermalers Joseph Quaglio und seiner Frau Agnes, geb. Grünwald, geboren. Er wurde auf den Namen 'Laurentius Josephus' getauft."
Translation: On 17 December 1793 at 9 o'clock in the morning the third son of the royal court theater painter Joseph Quaglio and his wife Agnes, was born in Grünwald. He was baptized with the names 'Josephus Laurentius'.
