Source Notes

Sy Scholfield quotes Data from his autobiography, "To the Edge of Space: Adventures of a Balloonist" (London: Macmillan, 2000), p. 16: "I was born in 1950 in my grandmother's house in a tiny village called Fingest, nestling in the Chiltern Hills in Buckinghamshire ... It was just before midnight and she [the midwife] needed to record my correct date of birth. In the end I just landed in time to be on 20 April." Time zone was BST (-1:00) but MET is shown here because it is the correct deviation from GMT.
