Biography

Israeli-American movie actress (named Natalie by her father after Bécaud's song). Her debut role was in the 1994 French action film Léon, and she has major success as Padmé Amidala in the Star Wars prequel trilogy. She enrolled at Harvard University in 1999 to study psychology while still working as an actress, completing her BA in 2003.

In 2011, Portman won the Academy Award (Oscar) and other awards for her lead performance as Nina Sayers in Black Swan.

Portman began dating ballet dancer Benjamin Millepied in 2009. The couple met while she was filming Black Swan. In 2010 Portman publicly announced her engagement to Millepied. On 6 June 2011, Portman gave birth to their first child, a son named Aleph Portman-Millepied.
