Biography

French noted family, the daughter of TV news-journalist Patrick Poivre d'Arvor. She suffered from anorexia from 1992 on, so severe that she was called "the Somalian." When she was hospitalized in October 1992, her dad said that she weighed 31 kg (68 lbs). She was interviewed on TV, openly telling her own story, 1992.

In spite of the book her dad dedicated to her, "Letter to the Absent One," and many good friends, Solenn could not cope with the demons that tormented her and threw herself on the train tracks at the Sablon subway station, Neuilly sur-Seine on 1/27/1995, 3:03 PM MET. She died at 6:15 PM in the hospital of Beaujon de Clichy la Garenne.

Tragically for the family, she had been born exactly a year after the death of her sister Tiephaine at the age of three months, and was buried next to the infant sister.
