Biography
Amercan plane crash of US Airways Flight 1549, a dramatic story in which the captain of the plane, Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger, went for an emergency landing on the Hudson River, saving all passengers' and crew members' lives and resulting in very few injuries.
The plane took off at 3:26 PM from LaGuardia Airport heading for Charlotte, NC. Within a few minutes after the take-off, flocks of birds evidently flew into the engines, knocking out power. Captain Sullenberger ruled out an option to land at a nearby New Jersey airport and called upon his great experience to glide the plane onto the Hudson. Moments later, passengers and crew members were on the wings of the plane and in emergency life rafts and were picked up by ferries and other marine craft in the area. Everyone survived and very few injuries were sustained.
