Biography
American plane crash, a Continental Airlines commuter plane carrying 49 passengers and crew, crashed into a home in Clarence Center, NY near Buffalo. All onboard the plane were killed. In addition, one person in the house was killed and two others were injured. The plane was just about to land at the Buffalo Airport and the crew had been talking with air traffic control about significant ice build-up on the exterior of the plane.
During the day of the crash, the plane was scheduled to fly from Newark to Albany, NY. It left the gate at Newark at 11:53 AM but didn't take off until 2:23 PM, presumably because of high winds in the area. On its return trip, it left Albany at 6:06 PM, more than four hours late. It arrived in Newark at 6:53 PM, more than three hours late. It didn't take off until 9:19 PM.
