Biography
Italian politician, judge and minister. Obtaining a degree in jurisprudence at age 21, he became a magistrate at 23, then a judge. A minister in the Fanfani Government, he was admitted to the Council of State where he became President of a section. At the age of 27, he entered the study of Constitutional Court and by 31 he was already the head of the Cabinet of the Minister of Industry.
Piga held administrative positions as Head of the Legislative Office of the Treasury, Head of Public Labor Cabinet, and of the Navy. He also taught in Geneva.
With a phenomenal public career, he rose rapidly in the halls of political power. His name was, as well, immersed in the scandal of Tangentopoli as well as being remembered for the suicide of Cagliari and Gardini, an event of great suspicion.
Piga died of a heart attack, 12/26/1990 Cortina, Italy.
