Biography
Italian executive in a terrorist group, implicated in the murder of the police superintendent Luigi Calabresi (attached to the political office of police HQ of Milan) on 5/17/1972 around 9:15 AM in Milan. In January 2000, the courts of Venice confirmed the guilt of Sofri, Bompressi and Pietro Stefani for the assassination. The investigation focused on the political activist group "Lotta Continua" but without conclusions until July 1988, when Leonardo Marino, a member of the group, suddenly turned himself into the police. He confessed that he had participated in the homicide as the driver of the car and that Ovidio Bompressi shot Calabresi by executive order of Sofri and Stefani.
