Biography
French dancer and choreographer. Located in St. Petersburg from 1862-1903, he established the supremacy of the Imperial Russian Ballet, giving final polish to technique of the form known as classical ballet. He published his autobiography in 1958, "Memoires of Marius Petipa."
Petipa died 7/14/1910 U.S.S.R.
