Biography
American military officer, the commander of U.S. forces in Europe in WW I, which was the first U.S. Army to be sent to Europe. After the war he achieved the highest military rank, General of the Armies of the U.S.
Pershing died 7/15/1948.

Penfield Collection spec time of 4:30 AM with "the date from 'Guerrilla Warrior' by Donald Smyth, which states that he was born on a very cold night when the snow was falling." He adds that "Sabian Symbols gives the date of September 13, 1860 with Sagittarius rising. The time here is calculated to give him Sag rising using the January date."
LMR notes that the data in not in Sabian Symbols. Old-file gives the same date, (January 13) 4:50 AM. The World Book and Americana encyclopedias gives September 13, 1860.
LMR quotes "Guerilla Warrior," p.3, "John Joseph was born probably on January 13, 1860." The Appendix devotes most of p.283 to the question of his birth. He gave September 13; however a witness gave January 13 and remembered it was cold that night and the snow was falling. Several other statements of early acquaintances confirm the January 13 date.
