Biography

American politician. The President of Bell and Howell at 19, he was Chairman of the Board in 1960, a U.S. Senator, then Governor of Illinois 1966.

Married, five children, widowed 1948, remarried 1950. One of his twin daughters, Valerie, was murdered, the other, Sharon, married a Rockefeller.

He died in Washington, DC on September 17, 2011.
