Biography
Canadian politician, the Canadian Ambassador to Washington 1942-1946, helping to shape foreign policy. Pearson also held the offices of Minister of External Affairs 1948-1957 and President of the General Assembly of the U.N. 1952-1953, as well as other positions. He played a central role during the Suez crisis as Secretary of State for External Affairs and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
Pearson died in 1972.
