Biography
Canadian hockey player. He and his two-year-older brother were both avid hockey players during the pioneer days of Canadian Hockey. Both boys played for major teams; by 1906 Frank was Captain of the McGill University team and Lester played for the Montreal Wanderers. Eric Whitehead in his biography, "The Patricks: Hockey's Royal Family," 1980, gives eye-opening glimpses of hockey's early years.
The brothers developed the NHL playoff system, introduced hockey to the west coast and refined the rules of the game. Lester was later a Manager of the N.Y. Rangers and NHL governor.
He died 6/01/1960, Victoria.
