Biography
American actress, a leading lady with operatic voice training. She made her debut in "Hollywood Canteen," 1944; other films include "Please Don't Eat the Daisies," 1961 and "Welcome to Hard Times," 1967. She took Broadway by storm in 1954 in her stage debut in "Pajama Game." More recently she appeared in TV series "Trapper John, M.D." and "General Hospital," 1989.
