Biography
Greek entrepreneur who was an international shipping magnate, as well as an art collector. He was considered a genius at seizing business opportunities, often bullying and conniving to take advantage of them. He was also the owner of one of the largest privately owned tanker fleets in the world, consisting of an estimated 80 ships. His own personal fortune was estimated to be some four billion dollars.
He was the brother-in-law and a former business partner of his arch rival, Aristotle Onassis. He was married four times and had his first son in 1942.
After being ill for three years, he died of a stroke on 4/15/l996, Zurich, Switzerland.
