Biography

German Chief of the Nazi Intelligence Service of the SS, a leading figure in Reinhard Heydrick's Security Service. A specialist in dirty tricks, he achieved notoriety as the man who started WW II by leading the fake "Polish attach" on the German radio station in Upper Silesia on 8/31/1939. The following day, Germany crossed into Poland to avenge the "provocation."

In November 1944 Naujocks was captured by the Allies and put into a war criminal camp, however he never was brought to trial for his war crimes against humanity. He escaped and later settled in Hamburg, where he died on 4/04/1960.
