Central American earthquake in El Salvador, 5.3 Richter magnitude, the third in a series that began Jan 13. This one centered in San Salvador, the capital city, killing at least one and leaving nerves frayed by the many aftershocks. The San Salvador Volcano spewed ominous clouds of dust, causing further misapprehensions.
