Biography
Egyptian politician and military man, who, on 7/23/1952 led the coup that forced King Farouk to abdicate the throne, making him a towering hero to the Egyptians. In 1956, he became President of Egypt.
He was President of the United Arab Republic from 1958 to his death on 9/28/1970, Cairo, Egypt.
