Biography

German ecclesiastic, head of the so-called German Faith Movement and Bishop in the Reich. Muller was noted for his nationalistic sermon and his anti-Semitism. In May 1933, he became Hitler's plenipotentiary for all problems concerning the Evangelical church, mobilizing Protestant support for the Third Reich. After 1935 he became a marginal figure and at the conclusion of the war, Muller committed suicide in Berlin, March 1946.
