Biography
Scottish naturalist, explorer and writer who campaigned for forest conservation in the U.S. and supported himself through teaching and farm work. Throughout his life he roamed through the U.S., Europe, Asia and the Arctic.
Muir died of pneumonia in Los Angeles on 24 December 1914.
