- other kind of relationship with Holden, James (born 22 October 1926). Notes: Holden translated Morinus' work from Latin
Tony Louis quotes Morin himself as he frequently refered to his own chart in his writings. "He used Regiomontanus Houses and stated that he has Venus, the Sun, Jupiter, Saturn, and Moon in the 12th. (Volume 21 of Astrologia Gallica by Morin)
"The problem with the 8:33 time is that it also places Mercury in the Regiomontanus 12th house, which is not the case. Morin would have to have been born several minutes later to keep Mercury out of the 12th. At 8:33 AM, Mercury is exactly on the 12th Regiomontanus cusp and Morin never mentions this as a factor in his life.
"In addition, there is some confusion about the coordinates of his birth in the literature. The coordinates are given for central Villefranche, Beulojais, France. "Zoltan Mason apparently researched the actual location of Morin's birth and lists it as 45 N 25 rather than 45 N 59. In other words, according to Mason's chart in Astrosynthesis translated by Lucy Little, Morin was born slightly south of central Villefrance.
"Mason's chart of Morin's birth is set for 8:47:33 AM LMT at 45 N 25, 4 E 43. This has Mercury in the 11th and Venus within 2 degrees of entering the 12th Regiomontanus House. I do not know if Morin used Ptolemy's "5-degree" rule for entering houses. If so, he would have regarded Venus conjoining the 12th cusp within a 2-degree orb as a 12th house planet. If not, then the earliest time that Venus enters the 12th (is on the cusp) would be 8:41:38 AM.
"Hence, given Morin's description of his chart in his own writings, he could only have been born AT or AFTER 8:41:38 a.m. LMT. Mason's chart of 8:47:33 a.m. LMT is probably rectified since it works very well when checked against the major events in Morin's life."
The chart presented in AstroDatabank is for 8:47 AM LMT.
(Formerly, Lescaut quoted his autobiography for 8:33 AM LMT. Daath gave 8:30 AM in Modern Astrology 1902 and AFA had 8:47 AM.)
