Biography
French royalty, the fourth child and second son of Henry IV and Marie de Medicis. During his brief life he was known only as Monsieur, a common address for a second son of the royal family and he was never given a Christian name.
Source Notes
Martin Harvey, Nativitas I, states that the record by Dr. Jean Heroard gave 10:30 PM LAT (10:29:40 LMT); however the Prime Minister recorded 11:00 PM as that is when he was given notice by the King to fire the cannon in Paris. (In England, Elias Ashmole received 2:30 PM and Dr. Francis Bernard noted 6:00 PM.) (Harvey gives April 6 OS, as France had gone back to the Republican calendar for a period)
