Théodore Monod (in the Sahara, 1967)

French explorer, naturalist, and humanist scholar. He was professor at the Museum national d'Histoire naturelle and founded the "Institut français d'Afrique noire" in Senegal.

He shares a common ancestor with Jacques Monod and film director Jean-Luc Godard.
