Biography

French politician and noted family, the son of President Francois Mitterrand. An educator before going into politics, he became a Deputy, 1981-'93, then Mayor of Libourne 1989. On 7/25/1987, he was injured in a serious car accident in Spain. He married 4/20/1977; two kids.

His father died on January 8, 1996; his mother, an activist for social justice, died "before dawn" on November 22, 2011.
