Biography

American musician and bass player who is with the band R.E.M. (Rapid Eye Movement), a group which formed in Athens, GA in 1980. He quit his job running an inserting machine at the local newspaper to join Michael Stipe, Peter Buck and Bill Berry for their concert debut on 4/05/80. In 1981, they put out their first single and steadily began moving up in the charts.
