Biography
French composer who, throughout the '20s, helped overturn traditional ideas about music. Studying in Paris and traveling in the '20s an '30s, he added jazz to his skills at the same time. Through the use of modern techniques, he was able to author a vast body of various types of work. In 1940 he moved to California with his wife and son and taught at Mills College in Oakland, CA. Milhaud died on June 22, 1974 in Geneva, Switzerland.
