German military man who served as a Nazi field marshal, Luftwaffe chief, Goering protégé and Chief of Staff from 1933-1945. In effect, he virtually created the German Air Force. Post war, Erhard was tried and imprisoned for war crimes.

Died on 1/25/1972, Wuppertal, Germany.
