Austrian occultist, novelist, journalist and banker, most famous for "Der Golem," and "The Green Face," best-sellers in the '20s.
Died on 4 December 1932, Starnberg, Bavaria, Germany.

Sy Scholfield quotes 1:30PM in "Gustav Meyrink: het leven van een esoterisch auteur en geestelijk zoeker" by Frans Smit (Ankh-Hermes, 1986), p. 14: "Gustav Meyrink werd geboren op 19 januari 1868, om half twee in de namiddag, in Wenen, in het hotel 'Blauer Bock'. Hij werd korte tijd later gedoopt in een Evangelische kerk, onder de naam Gustav Meyer." Translation: 'Gustav Meyrink was born on 19 January 1868, at half past one in the afternoon, in Vienna, in the hotel Blauer Bock. He was baptized a short time later in an Evangelical church, under the name Gustav Meyer.'
