Biography
German physician who was a pioneer in the practice of hypnotism. His "séances," in which he "magnetized" patients, created a media sensation, and were fashionable in Paris during the 1780's but the medical profession considered him a fraud.
Mesmer died on 3/05/1815, Meersburg, Germany.
